The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention

A few weeks back Marc Neutelings got in touch proposing a charity event, yesterday it was race day. From idea to event in roughly 4 weeks time, team registration, making server entry lists, arranging a live stream, commentary, just a few things on the “things to do list”. All to support the children in and fleeing Ukraine.

The war in the Ukraine, flabbergasted, lost for words, dumbfounded, words really can’t describe the tragedy that’s currently taking place. In the end no one wins in a war, everyone loses. Nearly two thirds of the 7.5 million children in Ukraine have fled their homes since the conflict escalated seven weeks ago, with reports of at least 153 children killed although Save the Children fears the number could be much higher. Please read that sentence again, 5 million children on the run for a war they didn’t start. Save the Children tries to help those children, and thats why we chose to support Save The Children in their great work.

In the past weeks Chris Hill has been working countless hours on organizing the event. Obviously with support of the SSRI admin team, but Chris was the driving force. Gathering teams, solo drivers, sponsors, you name it, he’s done it. Yesterday everything came together, 15 teams, 12 hours of racing and obviously trying to raise as much money as possible through the Just Giving Donation page, where you can still donate. Curious how the race was? Time to watch the full livestream!

Part 2

Through this way we would like to thank the teams, solo drivers, donor’s, sponsors, commentators, streaming guru’s, YouTube stream followers.
